The price made me hesitant but I decided to give Tetra's Whisper 4i a shot due to its good reputation. After using it for weeks in my 3-gallon nano tank, I'm pleasantly surprised. The filter runs quietly, which was my main concern - I couldn't even hear it over the hum of my desk lamp.

I appreciate how easy it is to maintain too. The cartridges are a cinch to replace and there's minimal mess involved. However, I did notice that it kicks up a bit more dust than my old filter. It's not a deal-breaker but something to consider if you're fastidious about tank cleanliness.

Overall, for the price and performance, this is a solid choice for small tanks like mine.
